foreverlostinliterature:

Okay, so I have two more books I really want to read by Halloween (+ a short story I plan to read on Halloween), but I don’t think I’ll be able to read both, so do I read:

A) The Silent Companions by Laura Purcell (gothic ghost story), or
B) We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson (a classic)?

I’m sort of leaning towards the latter because I feel like The Silent Companions could always work as a cozy winter book also, but because I am an indecisive person I must ask others’ opinions.  So what do you guys think?

P.S. What books have you been/are you planning on reading for the Halloween month!?

Thanks all for your suggestions–I have indeed decided upon We Have Always Lived in the Castle! I’m about thirty pages in and I’m super intrigued already. 🙂

Also, @itslaurocio– I’m planning to read The Lottery soon, so I’m happy to see you say that!

@petsandpages – Thanks! It seems perfect for Halloween so far. 🙂

@the-forest-library – Let me know if you decide to read it! I’ve heard great things about I’ll Give You Sun, hope you’re enjoying it!

@pianodaddy – I just read Anna Karenina earlier this year and found it really enjoyable, hope you’re also enjoying it. 🙂 War and Peace is also fantastic if you haven’t read it!
