Review: Jade War (Green Bone Saga #2) by Fonda Lee:
My review for the sequel to the incredible fantasy Jade City is up now! If you haven’t started this series yet, then do yourselves a favor and check it out because it’s pretty amazing! This sequel is somehow even better than the first book. Lee has mentioned that this series is basically a mix of her love of kung fu movies and mafia movies and yeah, it’s pretty badass. Come check it out!
Review: The Dragon Republic by R.F. Kuang:
Hey guys, I have a review up for The Dragon Republic, follow-up to the incredible fantasy The Poppy War that came out last year! This is an intense and incredible Asian-inspired fantasy that I can’t recommend enough. Come check it out if you’re interested!
Review: Nottingham by Nathan Makaryk:
I posted my review earlier this week for an incredible new Robin Hood retelling that’s coming out August 6th! If you have any interest in the myths and stories of Robin Hood, then I highly recommend you check this one out. I talk more about why I loved it in my review, but it has incredibly well-developed characters and some truly wonderful scheming and is well worth the read!
Review: Gods of Jade and Shadow by Silvia Moreno-Garcia:
My review for this dazzlingly gorgeous books, Gods of Jade and Shadow, is up now! Is that not the most gorgeous cover!? The book is equally lovely and has a really wonderful fairy tale-like style with a Mexican setting and is steeped in Mayan mythology. It’s definitely worth a read!
Review: Wanderers by Chuck Wendig:
Hey everyone, I’m back! Upon my return, I also bring to you a review for Chuck Wendig’s upcoming release (July 2nd!) Wanderers, a bit of a massive tome of a book, but one that is endlessly compelling and I cannot recommend enough! Definitely come check it out and let me know if you’re planning to (or already have) read it!
Review: The Grand Dark by Richard Kadrey:
Another new review went up yesterday for The Grand Dark by Richard Kadrey! This was a really interesting book that I don’t really know how to describe in just one sentence, so here’s from the blurb: “The Grand Dark is a dark, stand-alone fantasy that immerses us in a world where the extremes of bleakness and beauty exist together in dangerous harmony in a city on the edge of civility and chaos.” You should definitely come check it out!
Review: The Girl in Red by Christina Henry:
New review up for The Girl in Red by Christina Henry! This is a post-apocalyptic story inspired loosely by Little Red Riding Hood and it’s fantastic. Seriously, it’s great and I gave it five stars. Everything Christina Henry seems to be great, so check this one out and if you like, check out her other books also!
Review: The Luminous Dead by Caitlin Starling:
I have a new review up for The Luminous Dead by Caitlin Starling! I’ve been super bad at remembering to cross-post my reviews here over the past few weeks, but better late than never, right? This is a sci-fi story that follows a woman named Gyre as she goes on a solo caving exploration on a foreign planet…and things don’t quite go as expected. This was so compelling and I really enjoyed it! Come check out my review if you want to learn a bit more. 🙂 Has anyone else read this one yet??
Review: Westside by W.M. Akers:
I forgot to share my review for the recently released (as of yesterday!) fantasy Westside! This book has a super interesting world and a unique concept, so come by and check it out if you’re interested!
Review: To Best the Boys by Mary Weber:
My review for To Best the Boys, which came out Tuesday the 19th, is up! I hadn’t seen much hype for this book when I picked up the ARC, but it ended up being a really pleasant surprise and one that I would encourage you to check out if you’re looking for a good YA. 🙂 Come on by and check out the review to find out more about it if you’re interested! Has anyone read this/planning to read this one? Isn’t this cover great?
